At AAE13, there was a panel presentation that looked at six key areas of the science and profession of Endodontics. The speakers discussed the then-current state of the art in those areas and made predictions about their futures. At AAE25, we wish to revisit those areas and again look at how they evolved to where we are now and make some further predictions as to where they may stand in 2037. The six presentations across two sessions will be:

Biomechanics of Canal Preparation – Dr. Ove Peters

Pain Following Endodontic Treatment – Dr. Alan Law

Nanotechnology and Canal Disinfection – Dr. Anil Kishen

Day to Day Practice of Endodontics – Dr. Jeff Coil

Endodontic Education – Dr. Brad Johnson

Tissue Engineering/ Management of Vital Pulp – Dr. Tatiana Botero

Each presentation will be 30 minutes long and at the end of the afternoon, there will be time for questions.

Learning Objectives:

Describe how these six areas of endodontics have evolved in the past 12 years to where they are today.
Explain what factors may have a deciding influence on how each area changes over time.
Identify likely pathways forward into the near future to help us all navigate the development of these important areas of our specialty.
