John completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. He then went on to complete his dental degree at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. Afterwards, he completed an AEGD at ASDOH in Mesa, Arizona. He practiced in general dentistry for a few years in Arizona before coming back for endodontic residency at the University of Washington.
