Associate Professor
Boston University
My research over the last 17+ years and as an academic track Assistant Professor has focused on oral cancer, bone and cartilage stem cells, and epigenetics. A veterinarian by training, I have a strong grasp of the need for integrating into Vivo, preclinical and clinical research in advancing our understanding of bone and cartilage for both normal physiology and pathological processes.
I serve as PI on an RO1, R21, awards and Co-investigator on several other grants. My laboratory focus is on four different areas: 1) to identify radiation therapy and immunotherapy combinations, 2 to study epigenetic regulation in cancer, 2) to evaluate osteoarthritis anabolic agents, 3) to develop preclinical animal models for collaborative studies, and 4) to develop technologies and therapies for commercialization or translation to benefit patients.
