Amanda Matsuhara graduated from University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 2019. She worked in private practice and community health. Treating patients in community health included seeing many patients on an emergency basis who were in pain. Many of these patients had complex medical histories which led to an interest in examining if there was a relationship between certain medical conditions and an increased presentation for emergency dental visits.
