Pavel Cherkas, D.M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Cherkas is an Assistant Professor of Oral Physiology and Endodontics at the University of Toronto, focusing on the fields of endodontics, neurophysiology and orofacial pain. He has served on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Endodontics, Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy and the Journal of Orofacial Pain. Dr. Cherkas has conducted pain research at several Universities worldwide such as Cambridge (UK), Leipzig (Germany) and Tokyo (Japan).His research has focused on orofacial pain and neuromuscular function for almost 30 years. Dr. Cherkas has published 16 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, a textbook chapter, a clinical guideline and many research abstracts. Dr. Cherkas will be a supervisor of this project.
