Dr. Malik Al-Grouz is a second-year Endodontic resident at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where he earned his DMD and was honored with the Senior Student Dental Award by the American Academy of General Dentistry for his dedication to patient care. After graduation, he received the California Health Cares (Calhealthcares) scholarship, which enabled him to provide essential dental care to underserved communities in California for four years, deepening his commitment to community-centered oral health. His current research compares the efficacy of the GentleWave® and Er:YAG ( Fotona ) laser systems in biofilm removal within root canals. Dr. Al-Grouz is committed to becoming a Board-Certified endodontist, with aspirations to blend clinical practice and academia, contributing meaningfully to the field of endodontics.
