As a research scientist in oral microbiology, my laboratory has had a long-standing interest in bacterial pathogenesis. Within this realm, most of my effort has been dedicated to the microbiology of dental diseases. I have acquired a wide range of experience investigating several aspects of dental caries, the oral microbiome, oral cancer and probiotics, employing state of the art molecular, genetic and microscopic techniques while pursuing a variety of experimental approaches. The present application is dedicated to improving disinfection of root canals. This is a persistent problem that has significant clinical implications. I am excited to continue my collaboration with the Principal Investigator, Dr. Abhi Parolia, and his research team by providing my expertise in oral microbiology and working with the team to ensure their study will be completed with appropriate scientific rigor.
