Dr. Kristiana Kalibat graduated from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 2018 and practiced as a general dentist for five years before beginning an Endodontics Residency at NYU College of Dentistry. With a passion for saving teeth and staying at the forefront of the field, Dr. Kalibat has focused on the importance of proper diagnosis in endodontics as the cornerstone of successful treatment.
During her residency at NYU, Dr. Kalibat observed that teaching accurate endodontic diagnosis in dental school is crucial for building a strong foundation in dentistry. This recognition inspired a research project exploring the use of large language models (LLMs) in dental education. By leveraging LLMs, the research aims to lower costs and increase accessibility to quality teaching resources for dental students.
