Received Dental Degree and Master’s in Dentistry from the Federal University of Pelotas and Ph.D. from São Paulo University in Brazil. Before Iowa, I had taught for over twenty years at the University of Planalto Catarinense, Brazil, where I developed teaching, research, and management activities at undergraduate and graduate levels. Concerning administrative activities, my work could be highlighted as Coordinator of Residence in Endodontics, Coordinator of the Human Research Ethics Committee, Coordinator of the Master Program in Public Health, Coordinator of the Master in Environment and Health, Dean of Research, Extension, and Postgraduation. My topics of research interest are related to endodontic infections, intracanal medications, failures and retreatments, and nanotechnology in Endodontics. I received national and international awards, including Colgate, Brazilian Society of Dental Research, and Pan-American Health Organization.
