Dr. Aya Takase is the Head of Global Marketing Communications at Rigaku. With over 26 years of experience, Dr. Takase combines her expertise in X-ray analysis with her passion for making advanced technologies accessible to scientists and engineers worldwide.
Dr. Takase holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Osaka University, where her research focused on the characterization of additively manufactured titanium alloys using X-ray diffraction (XRD). She also earned a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the Tokyo University of Science. With more than 20 years of experience with a wide range of XRD analyses, from powder diffraction to thin-film analyses and dynamical diffraction, as well as X-ray computed tomography, she was involved in a number of XRD and CT system designs. Her academic and professional work has contributed to fields like materials science, additive manufacturing, and geochronology, including several peer-reviewed publications.
