Daniel W. McNeil, PhD is a Parker E. Mahan Endowed Professor and Chair of the Department of Community Dentistry and Behavioral Science at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. His training in Clinical Health Psychology has prepared him broadly for work in the field of Behavioral Dentistry. Dr McNeil’s translational research and service includes a focus on training dental providers for best practices in interacting with patients, particularly those who have high levels of dental care-related anxiety and fear, as well as children. He has had grant funding from the National Institutes of Health for over 20 years, addressing issues of barriers to dental access and utilization in rural and other underserved communities.
