Dr. Ana Cristina Andrada, originally from Brazil, earned her dental degree in 1999 and an Endodontics certificate in 2005 from the Federal University of Santa Catarina. She practiced as a general dentist and endodontist while dedicating time to a community health center and giving back to her institution as a pre-doctoral instructor.
After moving to the U.S., she completed a certificate in Endodontics and a Doctor of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology at Harvard in 2015 and 2016, respectively. In 2018, she earned her U.S. DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy, where she also served as a full-time Endodontic faculty. Dr. Andrada became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 2019 and has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals.
She joined VCU in 2021 as Associate Professor and Director of Pre-Doctoral Endodontics. Her contributions to education have been recognized with the AAE Educator Fellowship Award. Dr. Andrada also serves as a faculty advisor for HSDA, AAWD, and ADEA student chapters, mentoring students and junior faculty while fostering inclusivity and professional growth.
