Marco Tizzano, Ph.D.

Dr. Marco Tizzano is a faculty member at Penn Dental Medicine, where he contributes to the Department of Basic & Translational Sciences, focusing on taste and smell neuroscience. Before joining Penn Dental Medicine, he was an assistant member at the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia from 2015 to 2024. His association with Penn Dental Medicine began in 2017, when he served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor, teaching in the same department. Earlier in his career, Dr. Tizzano was part of the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, where he served as a faculty member from 2011 to 2015.
