Wm. Ben Johnson, DDS, attended University of Tulsa, 1962-1965, Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, 1969 Baylor University, US Navy 1969-1971, and Endodontic Certificate, 1973 Baylor University. He is a member of the ADA, AAE, ODA, American College of Dentists and International College of Dentists. Dr. Johnson maintained a private endodontic practice in Tulsa, OK from 1973 to 2003 when he retired from practice. Dr. Johnson is the Founder of Tulsa Dental Products, and Sportswire, a NiTi manufacturing facility, both of which were acquired by Dentsply (Dentsply Sirona). Dr. Johnson has been instrumental in developing and improving products for the advancement of the endodontic community, most notably for creating Thermafil, rotary Nickle Titanium instrumentation and introducing MTA. Additionally, he started a fishing lure company with “Terminator” NiTi spinnerbaits being the primary product. He has received the American Association of Endodontists President’s Award, Philanthropist of the Year Award, Oklahoma Inventor of the Year Award, French Society of Endodontists Louis I. Grossman Award and the University of Tulsa Distinguished Alumni Award. Dr. Johnson’s current field of interest is debridement of the root canal system and analysis, experimentation and development of devices and materials related thereto.
