Professor Lai is Vice-Dean of Education and the former Director of Graduate Periodontology at University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine and Doctor of Education at University of Pennsylvania. He completed his Master of Science and specialty training in periodontology at University of Toronto. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, International College of Dentists, American College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He is Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
