The presentation aims to provide histological and bacteriological evidence of the effectiveness of various technologies in removing pulp tissue from complex root canal anatomies.

Learning Objectives:

  • Compare and Contrast Irrigation Techniques: Evaluate the effectiveness of various irrigation techniques (ultrasonic, laser, positive and negative pressure and mulstisonication) in removing debris and disinfecting root canals, as evidenced by histological analysis.
  • Explain how the Endocator, a device that measures ATP levels, can be used as a noninvasive indicator of root canal cleanliness and bacterial presence.
  • Discuss the limitations of histological and bacteriological analysis and ATP detection in evaluating root canal disinfection, such as the potential for false positives or negatives. Additionally, explore the challenges of accessing and cleaning complex root canal anatomies.
