Dr. Shen is a Full Professor in Endodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, UBC. She has published more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals with a h-index of 70 (according to Google Scholars). Her contributions also include writing 8 book chapters, notably in publications such as Ingle’s Endodontics and Textbook of Endodontology, among others. She has two patents awarded. Formerly serving as an Associate Editor of Endodontic Topics, Dr. Shen's editorial prowess extends to her role as one of the Editors of Visual Endodontics 2012 multimedia. She currently serves as an Associate Editor for esteemed journals such as Bioactive Materials (IF: 18.9), Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology (IF: 5.7), and Frontiers in Dental Medicine. Moreover, she is an Editorial Board Member of the International Endodontic Journal. Recognized for her outstanding contributions to education, Dr. Shen has received multiple teaching awards from UBC. Notably, her postdoctoral fellow was honored with the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) STAR Network Academy Fellowship in 2017. Dr. Shen's research interests are centered around NiTi instruments, root canal irrigation, bioactive materials, and innovative strategies for eradicating oral biofilms. Her collaborative efforts have led to the development of peptide therapy for oral health.
