The process of wound healing is a complex and crucial component of the success of endodontic root end surgery. The objective is to achieve close tissue re-approximation, enabling the regeneration of oral tissues through primary intention, and minimizing the risk of unnecessary scarring due to wound gapping. This table clinic aims to review the wound healing process and explore the various sutures available to facilitate wound healing. The review will consider the following suture characteristics: material, needle length and shape, filament size, and suture selection according to flap design and tissue type. By aligning these characteristics with the biological principles of wound healing and microsurgical endodontic techniques, this presentation will provide recommendations for the most suitable sutures for endodontic microsurgery.
